Excellent review! Assata has a special - yet heavy - way of telling her narrative where she encourages us kinfolk to look within ourselves in the midst of the oppressive regime. Her poetic summeries of searching for a peace of mind when she is at the beach is such a relatable feeling. Throughout her story, Assata’s choice of words were provocative, serene, and undeniably fiery.

“Dreams and reality are opposites. Action synthesizes them.” - pg. 260
